SOLARA product used : Air Fryer
While beignets, a type of deep-fried dough typically served with powdered sugar, are a delicious treat, they are not generally considered a food with significant health benefits. Beignets are high in refined carbohydrates and calories, and the deep-frying process adds extra saturated fats. While they provide a quick source of energy, indulging in beignets regularly can contribute to weight gain and may not align with a nutrient-dense diet.
Ingredients:
- 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Cooking spray (for the air fryer basket)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions:
Preheat the Air Fryer:
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (180°C) for about 5 minutes.
Prepare the Beignet Dough:
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; a slightly lumpy batter is fine.
Form the Beignets:
- On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4-inch thickness.
- Cut the dough into squares or rectangles, depending on your preference.
Air Fry the Beignets:
- Lightly coat the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
- Place the beignet pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving some space between each piece.
- Air fry at 350°F (180°C) for 6-8 minutes, flipping the beignets halfway through, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
Dust with Powdered Sugar:
- Once the beignets are done, remove them from the air fryer and let them cool for a minute.
- Dust the warm beignets generously with powdered sugar.
Serve:
- Serve the air-fried beignets warm and enjoy this delicious treat.
