SOLARA product used : Air Fryer Oven

Crispy Southern Catfish can be a nutritious addition to your diet, especially when prepared using healthier cooking methods like air frying. Catfish is an excellent source of lean protein, which is essential for building and repairing tissues, as well as supporting a healthy metabolism. It is also rich in heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids, which can help reduce inflammation and lower the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Catfish contains essential vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin B12, niacin, and selenium, which are crucial for maintaining energy levels, supporting brain function, and boosting the immune system.

  • 4 catfish fillets
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • Cooking spray

  • In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  • Place the buttermilk in a separate shallow dish.

Coating Fish:

  • Dip each catfish fillet into the buttermilk, coating both sides.
  • Transfer the fillet to the flour mixture, and coat both sides evenly, pressing gently to help the coating adhere.
  • Shake off any excess flour and place the coated fillets on a plate or baking sheet.

Air Frying:

  • Preheat the air fryer oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  • Arrange the coated catfish fillets in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving some space between them.
  • Air fry for 12-15 minutes, flipping the fillets halfway through the cooking time, until the coating is crispy and the fish is cooked through.

  • Transfer the crispy catfish fillets to a serving plate.
  • Serve hot, garnished with lemon wedges and your favorite dipping sauce, such as tartar sauce or remoulade.
  • Enjoy your crispy Southern catfish!
