Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Grilled Cheese Sandwich

SOLARA product used : Granite Frypan

Grilled cheese sandwiches, when prepared with whole grain bread and quality cheese, can offer a variety of health benefits. Whole grain bread provides fiber, aiding in digestion and promoting a feeling of fullness, which can help with weight management. Cheese is a good source of calcium and protein, essential for bone health and muscle repair. Grilling the sandwich can reduce the amount of added fats compared to frying, making it a healthier option.

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of bread
  • Butter
  • Cheese slices
  • Additional fillings like sliced tomato, ham, or cooked bacon

Instructions:

Heat the pan:

  • Place the granite fry pan on the stovetop and turn the heat to medium. Allow the pan to heat up for a few minutes.

Butter the bread:

  • Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread. This will help them crisp up and add flavor.

Layer the ingredients:

  • Once the pan is hot, place one slice of bread buttered side down in the pan. Add slices of cheese on top of the bread, followed by any additional fillings like tomato, ham, or bacon.

Cover with the second slice:

  • Place the second slice of bread on top of the fillings, buttered side facing up.

Cook the sandwich:

  • Let the sandwich cook for 2-3 minutes on one side, until it turns golden brown and crispy. Then, carefully flip it over using a spatula and cook the other side for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Check for doneness:

  • Lift a corner of the sandwich to check if the cheese has melted. If it's melted and gooey, the sandwich is ready.

Remove from heat:

  • Once both sides are golden brown and the cheese is melted, remove the sandwich from the pan and place it on a cutting board or plate.

Slice and serve:

  • Use a sharp knife to cut the sandwich diagonally into halves or quarters. Serve hot and enjoy the delicious, cheesy goodness!
