Monkey Bread

Monkey bread, while delicious, is not particularly known for its health benefits. This sweet treat is typically made from dough, sugar, butter, and cinnamon, resulting in a high-calorie and high-sugar dessert. Enjoyed occasionally as a special treat, it can satisfy cravings but should be consumed in moderation as part of a balanced diet.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • Chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)

Instructions:

Preheat:

Grease Pan:

  • Grease a bundt pan or any oven-safe dish that fits inside your air fryer basket.

Prepare Cinnamon Sugar:

  • In a bowl, mix together 1/2 cup of granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.

Cut Biscuits:

  • Cut each refrigerated biscuit dough into quarters.

Coat with Cinnamon Sugar:

  • Roll each biscuit quarter in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until coated.

Arrange in Pan:

  • Arrange the coated biscuit pieces evenly in the greased bundt pan.

Prepare Butter Mixture:

  • In a small saucepan, melt 1/2 cup of unsalted butter and 1/2 cup of brown sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until smooth.

Pour Mixture Over Biscuits:

  • Pour the melted butter and brown sugar mixture over the biscuit pieces in the bundt pan. 

Place in Air Fryer Oven:

  • Place the bundt pan in the preheated air fryer oven about 15-20 minutes or until the monkey bread is golden brown and cooked through.

Cool and Ivert Pan:

  • Remove the monkey bread from the air fryer oven and let it cool for a few minutes and carefully invert the bundt pan onto a serving plate to release the monkey bread.

Serve:

  • Serve warm and enjoy your delicious monkey bread!
