Onion Rings - Solara Home

SOLARA product used : Air Fryer

Onion rings, when prepared in a health-conscious manner, can offer certain nutritional benefits. Onions, the primary ingredient, contain antioxidants and compounds with potential anti-inflammatory properties. They are a good source of vitamins C and B6, as well as folate and dietary fiber, promoting immune function and digestive health. When air-fried instead of deep-fried, onion rings can be lower in unhealthy fats, contributing to heart health. However, it's important to note that the overall health benefits may vary depending on the cooking method and accompanying ingredients.

 Ingredients:

  • 2 large onions, peeled and sliced into rings
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Cooking spray

Instructions:

Preheat the Air Fryer:

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.

Prepare the Coating Station:

  • In one bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  • In another bowl, beat the eggs.
  • Place the breadcrumbs in a third bowl.

Coat the Onion Rings:

  • Take an onion ring and dip it into the flour mixture, ensuring it's coated evenly.
  • Finally, coat the onion ring with breadcrumbs, pressing the breadcrumbs onto the ring to adhere.

Arrange in the Air Fryer:

  • Lightly coat the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  • Place the coated onion rings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded.

Air Fry:

  • Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes, flipping the onion rings halfway through or until they are golden brown and crispy.

Repeat:

  • Repeat the coating and air frying process for the remaining onion rings.

Serve:

  • Once done, remove the onion rings from the air fryer.
  • Serve the onion rings hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
