SOLARA product used : Air Fryer
Paneer popcorn, made from Indian cottage cheese (paneer), offers a delightful snack with potential health benefits. Paneer is a rich source of high-quality protein, essential for muscle development, repair, and overall cellular function. The marination process often involves yogurt and spices, providing additional nutrients and potential digestive health benefits. The air-frying method reduces the need for excessive oil, making paneer popcorn a lighter alternative to deep-fried snacks.
Ingredients:
- 200g paneer, cut into bite-sized cubes
- 1 cup thick yogurt
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon chaat masala
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup corn flour
- Salt to taste
- Cooking spray or oil for the air fryer basket
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions:
Marinate the Paneer:
- In a bowl, mix thick yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, chaat masala, and salt to form a smooth marinade.
- Add the paneer cubes to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Prepare Coating Mixture:
- In a shallow dish, mix breadcrumbs and corn flour to create the coating mixture.
Coat Paneer Cubes:
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Take each marinated paneer cube and coat it evenly in the breadcrumb and corn flour mixture, pressing gently to adhere the coating.
- Lightly coat the air fryer basket with cooking spray or brush it with a small amount of oil.
- Arrange the coated paneer cubes in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each piece.
- Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping the paneer cubes halfway through, or until they are golden brown and crisp.
Serve:
- Once done, remove the paneer popcorn from the air fryer.
- Serve hot with your favorite chutney or sauce.
