Tandoori aloo is a flavorful and nutritious vegetarian dish. Potatoes are an excellent source of vitamin C, vitamin B6, potassium, and manganese. They are also a good source of fiber, which promotes healthy digestion. The tandoori spices used, such as red chili powder, cumin, coriander, and garam masala, provide antioxidants and have anti-inflammatory properties. The yogurt marinade used in tandoori aloo contributes beneficial probiotics that aid digestion.
Ingredients:
- 4 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 tablespoon tandoori masala powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons oil
- Chopped coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions:
Marinate:
- In a large bowl, mix yogurt, tandoori masala, red chili powder, cumin powder, garam masala red chili powder, garlic, ginger, lemon juice, and salt.
- Add cubed potatoes and mix well to coat evenly.
- Marinate potatoes for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat air fryer oven to 380°F (193°C).
- Remove marinated potatoes from bowl, shaking off excess marinade.
- Place potatoes in air fryer basket in a single layer, not overcrowding.
- Drizzle oil over potatoes.
- Air fry for 15-20 minutes, shaking basket halfway, until potatoes are tender and crispy.
Serve:
- Transfer tandoori aloo to a serving dish.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with mint chutney or raita.
