How do I care for my cast iron?
Rinse hot, scrub with a soft brush or sponge, wipe completely dry, rub in a few drops of oil. 30 seconds after every wash. Never use dish soap, steel wool, scouring pads or the dishwasher, and never leave it soaking or wet — these strip the seasoning, so the surface turns grey, food sticks and bare iron rusts within days.
What if my pan rusts or starts sticking?
Seasoning is a hardened oil layer, not a coating. It builds with use and thins if scrubbed or washed away. Grey patches, sticking and rust all mean it has come off — from detergent, a metal scrubber, or damp storage. It's reversible: scrub off the rust, dry on low flame, rub in a thin coat of oil, heat 10 minutes. Repeat 2–3 times. These are characteristics of uncoated cast iron, not manufacturing defects, and aren't eligible for return, refund or exchange. A manufacturing defect means a crack or break on delivery, reported within 24 hours with photos.
